Woodpecker Out My Dining Room Window

We had a large woodpecker one summer right outside our dining room dinner. He was eating choke cherries which we were told birds don't like to eat. But he came back daily to eat them while we were having lunch. So this time we were prepared with our camera.

More Animals in My Backyard

We watch many types of animals from our window. This was a quick shot of a wood duck in the tree. It left as quickly as it came, so we didn't have much time to focus.

Animals In My Backyard!

Geese walking on pond when they first came.

Sorry, I picked the picture that was not clear. But then this is through my window.

This is actually a turkey vulture in the tree. Again through the window and it was snowing out.

A Dozen Geese!

(Yes I can count - Not all of them are picture here!)

One is already sitting on eggs on the beaver lodge.

They all came because they thought I was going to to feed them.

My sister came and visited us in January. It was too short of a visit, but it was fun!

Chicken Poxs Boys

October couldn't go out quietly with out first having the 3 youngest get Chicken Pox. They all started with in a day of each other so we got it over quickly. They all tolerated it quite well even though they did get bored with it after a few days.
Here are some pictures just as they were breaking out. They got worse then this before they got better.

October Apple Picking!

This was actually our second apple picking trip. The first one was at Lone Maple Farm in Binghamton where we went on a tractor ride and went through a corn maze. This was more of a tourist place. Our second trip was to a farm in Leonardsville. That is where these pictures are from. We picked 3 bushels of mostly Cortland Apples. We ate a lot of them and made several batches of applesauce. This was a fun family project.
