Got Milk?!?
The first week of August we got ourselves a cow! She is a registered Jersey cow. Having her around has been a learning experience! I would have gotten rid of her the first week if it were my choice!!! But things have gotten better. I actually enjoy her now. She is very personable and friendly. She will mooo when you pull in the driveway, mooo when she sees the bathroom light on in the middle of the night, etc. She does like company. Tyler can actually call now her and she comes running.
The second day we had her she broke through the fence and we spent the greater part of an hour looking for her. We have 51 acres and there are hundreds more around. We hadn't a clue where she could be. Tyler and I followed mud prints until they stopped. I gave up leaving Tyler in the woods with one of two two-way radios. As I was walking down the hill, I prayed repeatedly, "Lord, I know you know where she is, can you please show me?" I turned my head at every little sound in the woods hoping it would be her. As I was walking down the hill, I noticed new prints that weren't there before. Shortly there after, I looked to my side, and there she was!! Praise God!!! She was off to the side of the road, stopped by a fallen tree. Now the fun part was getting her out of the woods. I called Tyler on the radio and came and met me. I went on ahead to get a rope. That is when I met my neighbor on her ATV. She went up and with the help of some old branches, and Tyler pulling, they got her down the hill. Needless to say she stayed locked up in the barn for a week, until she was used to being here.
The first couple of weeks were tiresome, learning how to milk and such. We now have a portable milker that a family from church gave us, which helps tremendously. That was a blessing!!! She is still learning to get along with the horse. They still keep a safe distance apart, but at least they are not scaring each other anymore.

Discovery Center
We had a fun visit to the Discovery Center this summer. This hands on children's museum has lots of play fun that the children think is great. Even my older children enjoy coming here. We use holiday and birthday money each year to buy memberships to places like this.

Hazy Lazy Days of Summer!!
On some hot days the children have enjoyed using the sprinkler. It was also a good opportunity to water some new grass seed.
Long Island Trip and Happy Birthday Mom!
Early this month we made a visit to Long Island to go to our Aunt and Uncle's 50th Wedding anniversary. The children and Bill spend some time in the pool and we celebrated my mom's 63rd birthday. We really had a fun time. It is too bad we couldn't stay longer.

Our Home is For Sale
Well it is official! Our house is for sale. The realtor says it is a bad market right now. Too many houses and not enough buyers. We will see what the Lord has for us and where we will wind up. Whether we stay here or move somewhere else.
Happy Birthday Nathan!
Here is a picture of everyone with Nathan on his birthday. Also in the picture was our Fresh Air Child. Can you pick him out? We had a lot of fun with him, although he took some adjusting to our family. He did want to go home from the second day on. I know he had fun, but he missed his family and was anxious to go home to them.

A Day at the Beach
We met Aunt Gige and Uncle Joe and his family at the park last weekend the 7th of July. The children had a lot of fun playing in the sand and water. We also had our Fresh Air child along with us.
Rainbows!!
After a rain fall we were able to catch this double rainbow in the sky. I just had to get the picture because my mom-in-law just said Wednesday she never sees them any more.
